Life on Earth requires light to live, survive and thrive. Just like plants, humans are also photo-reactive beings, meaning that when sunlight reaches our skin, it triggers a myriad of necessary processes in our bodies. The right amount of sunlight can protect the body from inflammation, lower high blood pressure, improve brain function, and many others. In short, sunlight is a key nutrient for overall health.
Exposure to sunlight during the day is crucial to well-being. It is recommended to get at least 10 to 15 minutes of sunlight daily. However, due to our modern lifestyle most of us are light deficient. We spend most of our days indoors under far from ideal light, and when we do go out in the sun, we end up being out too long to the point of skin damage. It is important then to obtain the right amount of light to maintain our bodies working optimally.
Low Level Light Therapy (LLLT) replicates the beneficial therapeutically proven wavelengths of sunlight. By using Light Emitting Diodes, (LED), LLLT full body treatment delivers light directly to the skin, where it gets absorbed and used by the body in the area of application. LLLT triggers a long list of benefits one of them being the release of nitric oxide from red and near infrared light. This helps improve blood flow and reduce inflammation in the target area. There are specific wavelengths of light that have proven benefits and we have incorporated them into our proprietary equipment.
Red Light Therapy [ 610 - 660 nm]: speeds the healing of wounds and injuries, improves and restores range of motion, reduces inflammation and pain, and triggers the release of nitric oxide, the body’s vasodilator.
Infrared Light Therapy [810 - 880 nm]: penetrates the body deeper than red, reaching deep into soft tissues, muscles, joints, tendons, teeth, gums and ultimately the bones. Infrared Light also triggers the release of nitric oxide, the body’s vasodilator.
